November 1999 Early on in the month, the production moved over to Wanaka, Queenstown, but November ended with several sets being washed away after record flooding and rainfall. After shooting a handful of battle and chase scenes at such locals as Kepler Mire, Mt. Owen, Hinuera, Wakatipu, and Wanaka, the cast and crew will take about a month off for the holidays, and pick things up in mid-January with the arrival of Sir Ian McKellen.
